Dear fellow spam-victim,
We have received a number of complaints of spams which SEEM to have been sent from Freebyte.com. However, this is not true at all,
we have NEVER sent a single spam.
It becomes more and more clear that a number of anti-social elements are sending spams, faking them to be from Freebyte.com and
other legitimate (= non-spamming) Websites. The reason is that spammers want to hide their own identity, or they are motivated to discredit
legitimate (= non-spamming) Websites.
Please note that it is easy to fake the mail headers, and pretend that you are someone else using an email, or to pretend that the mail
originates from a certain domain or Website.
It is easy using standard mail programs to fake one's email address, as long as the mail server allows for this.
Note also that we do not have any mail servers which are open for others to be abused, that we never spam, and that we are
totally opposed to any type of spam. In fact, we frequently have to close some of our own email accounts because of receiving hundreds of spams each day.
One could argue that those who send unwanted mass-emails (spam) are ordinary criminals,
since they are involved in the destruction of personal property such as mailboxes,
newsletters, newsgroups, discussion groups, bandwidth, etc. If you want to punish and stop spammers,
please submit the spams you received to the free service Spamcop.net.
This free service, Spamcop.net automatically analyzes the headers of the spams,
discards any fake information, and will report spammers automatically
to their REAL email and website providers. Very often this leads to the termination of the accounts of spammers.
As you, we are also interested in seeing ALL spammers stop. We also strongly believe that
spammers who attempt to ruin the good name of non-spamming Websites, by pretending to send spams from those legitimate Websites,
should be granted lengthy jail-sentences.
Best regards,
The Freebyte.com team.
